Peacefully located in the Derbyshire Dales at the edge of the Peak District National Park, our superb 5 STAR historic sandstone country cottage sits in 6 acres of private, landscaped gardens and pastureland. Quaint stone mullion windows with pretty leaded glass windows, cosy wood-burning stoves nestled under ingle-nook fireplaces, ancient oak beamed ceilings throughout and part timbered walls enhance the charm of this exceptional grade II listed cottage, dated as 1709.

All rooms have views over the gardens and surrounding landscape. The cottage is fitted and furnished to a high standard with antique pine furniture and co-ordinating furnishings, having also the luxury of full oil central heating with under-floor heating in the kitchen.

There are 3 floors with very shallow stairs- 6 steps to each full landing making access easy for the young or elderly.

Hillside Croft has 5 bedrooms, 4 double (1 en- suite) and 1 twin bedded. In these rooms are also 2 Z-beds and 2 cots, making the sleeping capacity 12 + 2 babies. There is a separate lounge and dining room, exquisitely furnished and comfortably seating 10- 12 guests. A TV with Text, video, DVD and CD player are supplied for your enjoyment.

The farmhouse kitchen is fully fitted in handmade pine units with tiled and marble worktops and a French double pottery sink set in mellow red brick surrounds. Facilities include a full halogen electric cooker, microwave, auto washer, tumble drier, dishwasher, fridge/freezer and chest freezer. An iron and board, electric mixer, kettle, toaster, coffee maker etc are all provided. The kitchen is a delight to work in with everything at hand for the adventurous chef.

There is a Victorian style master bathroom with roll top bath, sink, bidet, walk in shower and W/C all with gold fittings. The master bedroom has an en suite shower with, sink and W/C. Both have shaving sockets. Downstairs is a third W/C and sink.

Linen, heating and electricity are included, towels are supplied on request.

Beautiful gardens surround the cottage with a new orchard and woodland walk under way for your enjoyment. We provide a shed for cycle storage. A BBQ, Chimera and quality teak patio furniture overlooking the gardens and ponds are provided for your use and enjoyment.

Our cottage is central to all of Derbyshire's many attractions and activities, peaceful and private but not remote and within easy distance of all that Derbyshire, Staffordshire and Nottinghamshire have to offer. The magnificent historic Chatsworth House, Kedleston, Haddon, Hardwick and Sudbury Halls and Calke Abbey are but a short distance. The theme parks Alton Towers, The American Adventure and Gullivers Kingdom close by and Carsington Water Visitor and Water Sports centre is within 2 miles.

We are located in an area renowned for its diverse scenery and for walking. Nearby it is possible to enjoy cycling, pony trekking, boating and canoeing, fishing, caving, potholing and climbing or golfing.

Childminding can be provided by arrangement. Meals on arrival, food deliveries, special occasion cakes, collection from airports or railway stations can all be arranged.
